b'Art & TravelaMaZinG sitesIf youre traveling to Iceland, besides the Snfellsnes Peninsula and South Coast, Id highly recommend a nature bath in one of the hot springsthis is an important part of Icelandic culture. We went to Mvatn nature baths, where pools are naturally heated. Though its barely 105 km south of the Arctic Circle, the steam baths overlooking the lake made for a warm and cosy atmosphere. We also visited a hot water river in the reykjadalur Valley, in the vicinity of hverageri town, only 45 km from reykjavk. I would recommend this experience over the Blue Lagoon even though the latter is more popular with tourists. My other recommendations are for glacier walks, and if youre traveling in the right season, a trip into an ice cave. Horse riding on the wonderful Icelandic horses is worth trying; you get a completely different perspective on the landscape since horses can go where vehicles cannot.Iceland has many waterfalls: visit skgafoss, one of the biggest, dettifoss in the northeast or Gullfoss, called the golden waterfall.numerous whales come to the Icelandic coast. You can see them from husavik on the countrys north coast, Akureyri, and sometimes even reykjavik. Humpback whales come to Iceland in the summer, while orcas come to the Snaefellsnes Peninsula in winter (nov-Mar). ReykjavikHiking and trekking experiences are a must in this country of outstanding natural beauty. Take a walking tour or hiking trail across lavaAurora borealis, Akureyrifields, snowy slopes, glaciers, and waterfalls in places like thingvellir national Park or the landmannalaugar area. For more urban pleasures, Icelands capital city reykjavik will not disappoint you with its friendly coffeehouses, restaurants, museums, and architecture. You have to be lucky to view the northern Lights, which can only be seen during winter. When we were there in March, we got the opportunity to see some green lights in the sky, but on that particular day, it was pretty cloudy.Ice Cave in Vatnajokull50 \x1a MYPLAnET'
