This full-day trip to Godahoppsudden and Cape Point is a fantastic tour that we can highly recommend to anyone traveling to Cape Town.
You start in Cape Town and travel south along the beautiful, and in dramatic places, the Atlantic coast. Past spectacular beaches at Sea Point, Clifton and Camps Bay as well as the Llandudno viewpoint. You also pass small picturesque fishing communities and a stop is made in Hout Bay where you can also go on seal safaris (not included).
You will also pass through Chapmans's Peak, considered one of the world's most beautiful coastal stretches, to the Godahoppsudden Nature Reserve. Here you will find the vegetation unique to the area with thousands of plant species and a fauna consisting of antelopes, zebras and a variety of bird species. On the way you will also see historic lighthouses and shipwrecks off the coast.
One of the great highlights of the trip is Cape Point, Africa's southernmost point where the Atlantic and Indian Ocean meet and with cliffs 249 m above sea level. Here you can either walk or take the cable car up to the top of Cape Point Break near the old lighthouse of 1857. Once up there you are rewarded with an unobstructed view of the sea which foams up to the cliffs. If the weather is good you can also see dolphins there.
After lunch at a nearby restaurant (not included), continue the journey to the penguin colony at beautiful Boulders Beach and the magnificent Botanical Garden in Kirstenbosch, among others, before returning to Cape Town later in the afternoon.
